About Me

My wellness story

A love of health and fitness began during my time as a talented young middle-distance runner and swimmer, competing at the junior international level. I have always enjoyed pushing myself and embracing competition. The friendships and camaraderie I found in sport were formative in shaping me as a person, and I wanted to share that passion with others.

After completing a B.A. in Management, I began pursuing qualifications in the fitness industry, fueled by my love of sports science and biomechanics. This led me to teaching classes and working one-on-one with clients. I was later headhunted for a master trainer position at Keiser as an indoor cycling instructor, which allowed me to participate in many fitness events and conventions. I delivered presentations and training sessions on large stages to hundreds of cycling enthusiasts across Europe, primarily in Germany, Spain, and the UK. My work involved training instructors and providing technical support on how to run successful indoor cycling programmes.

I also developed a deep appreciation for the Pilates technique, becoming a master instructor in mat and Reformer classes. During this time, I had the privilege of working with Scottish Rugby and a variety of professional athletes, including footballers, golfers, and boxers. The diversity of my work continually expanded my skill set and knowledge.

Today, you’ll find me running a boutique studio in the west end of Glasgow, where I teach small group and one-on-one sessions. I also organize small fitness retreats and meditation sessions, helping people spend their free time engaging in nourishing practices. Many of my clients who travel work with me online, a skill I honed during the pandemic. This flexibility has allowed them to maintain consistency, often joking that there’s no escape!

Teaching and training people to care for their health and experience the benefits is incredibly rewarding. I firmly believe that every individual, regardless of their current fitness level, weight, or health condition, can become a successful exerciser and improve their quality of life. I absolutely love my work and the sense of purpose it provides as I help others transform their lives.

As I celebrate 25 years in the fitness industry, I have moved my focus towards working with organisations and in corporate settings. Over the past few years, I’ve been invited to speak at events and within companies. My interest in the role of community and sociological factors in health has grown significantly, and I believe that incorporating wellness programmes within companies can be a pivotal tool for encouraging employees to return to the workplace and addressing some of the global health crises we face.

A strong wellness focus has the potential to engage and motivate the workforce, improving productivity, morale, and energy while enabling peak performance both in the workplace and beyond, and I’m truly passionate about having a positive impact on people’s lives and wellbeing in this way.
